2007 Homecoming — Wednesday

If you plan to join the midwest convoy, email Carter so that we can have an accurate head-count and not leave anyone behind at scheduled stops. Be sure to provide details like your ride's color/model and a cellphone in case you get diverted — this will also enable nametags to be made in advance. For other major convoy routes to the 2007 Homecoming, check the ZSCCA website.

8:00am — Wednesday, August 29, 2007

Marriot Fairfield Inn
8275 Georgia St
Merrillville, IN 46410
219-736-0500
The beginning of the 2007 convoy departs from the parking lot of the Fairfield Inn at 8:00am sharp. This starting point is an annual favorite because it is clear of Chicago's morning rush hour traffic. Folks considering a beeline route through Downtown Chicago should be aware of heavy construction congestion on the Dan Ryan Expressway. Convoy participants from afar have opted to stay at the Fairfield Inn on Tuesday night putting them in the perfect spot for departure morning.

10:30am — Wednesday, August 29, 2007

The group travels southbound down I-65. After swinging around Indianapolis, we'll stop at exit 99 to pick up additional attendees. This exit contains Shell and BP stations for fuel.

12:45pm — Wednesday, August 29, 2007

After Indy, we'll convoy south on I-65 to Louisville, KY. Here, we will hop eastbound on I-64. Past the city, we'll stop at exit 17 for a lunch break. Options include Cracker Barrel, Ruby Tuesday, Waffle House, Arby's, Wendy's, Back Yard Burgers, McDonalds and Burger King. If you skipped fueling at the previous stop, this area has Shell, Chevron, and BP.

2:00pm — Wednesday, August 29, 2007

We'll cruise on I-64 eastbound to Lexington, KY. From here, we turn south on I-75 and head for Knoxville TN.

5:30pm — Wednesday, August 29, 2007

Alcoa Airport Hilton
2001 Airport Hwy
Alcoa, TN 37701
865-970-4300
The final stop for Wednesday is the Alcoa Hilton. Their typical room rate is $139 and $159. Call them directly and mention the code "Z Bimmers" for a special group rate of $114 for the executive level (breakfast lounge) or $104 for the main rooms. The Alcoa Hilton has served as a popular resting point for some of the major convoys in past Homecomings. If the numerous fast food eateries to the north won't do, the hotel's own Cooper Restaurant isn't shabby. Kick back with fellow attendees at the lobby bar the fun has only started.
