| The differential is made up of three planetary gears. Tamiya includes the boxwrench and grease. This step can be substituted for an upgraded TA03 differential (part #53267) made up of ball bearings instead of planetary gears. |

| The assembled differential is then placed into the gearbox. |

| Before the casing gets mated together, now is your chance to upgrade any nylon bushings (MA9) with friction-free aftermarket ball bearings. There are four nylon and two brass (MA10) bushings that can be replaced. |

| A few steps later, the stock RS-540 Mabuchi electric motor is installed. |

| The rear assembly is complete. The M-04L chassis features a double-wishbone rear suspension. While this isn't exactly the semi-trailing arm suspension of the real thing, it's a working suspension nevertheless. Note the use of CV joints in the drive axles. |
